How is Saliva Testing used?
Saliva tests are available that will determine individual hormonal levels. These kits are available through our pharmacy. This allows you the ease of performing the tests in the privacy of your own home.
Tests available:
This is an 11 sample panel designed for the woman who is still cycling The saliva is collected throughout the month and then is mailed to a lab in Washington State. Results will be sent in 2-3 weeks and the three estrogens — estradiol, estriol, and estrone, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA — will be plotted in graph form throughout the month identifying areas of deficiencies. This is a kit designed to be used in the home and is available through our pharmacy.
Results are forwarded to us. At that time, we will forward them to you or you may schedule an individual consultation to discuss the results and develop a personalized plan for you.
Post-menopausal hormone panel
This is a one-sample panel for the woman who is no longer having monthly cycles. It charts the same hormones as the 11-sample panel — e3 estrogen’s — estradiol, estriol, and estrone, progesterone, testosterone and DHEA.
Results are returned to us in 2-3 weeks. At that time we may forward them to you or you may choose to schedule an individual consultation with our trained pharmacist. He will customize a plan for you and coordinate with your physician.
Male Hormone Panel
This is a one-sample saliva test for men who are experiencing:
- Decreased muscle mass and strength
- Decreased vigor, low energy
- Decreased libido
- Insomnia
Nervousness and depression
Test results will measure six hormones: DHEA, androstenedione, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, estrone, and progesterone.
Test results are returned to our pharmacy and at that time you may elect to schedule a consultation with our trained pharmacists to discuss bio-identical hormone replacement for men or we will forward the results to you to discuss with your physician.
Adrenal Stress Index
This is a four-sample panel that is taken throughout the day and measures adrenal gland function.
Abnormal adrenal function can influence your hormonal health as well as many other processes of the body such as:
- Energy production
- Muscle and joint function
- Bone Health
- Immune Health
- Sleep quality
- Skin regeneration
- Thyroid Function
- Grain intolerance and Stress
Test results are returned to our pharmacy and at that time you may elect to schedule a consultation with our trained pharmacists or we will forward the results to you to discuss with your physician.
